Saints Row: The Third – Shock and Awesome (OFFICIAL)
There are 18 total days left for the release of both Battlefield 3 and Modern Warfare 3. Two huge blockbuster titles are set for a gun fight in the sales department, but it seems they may be competing with another title. This past week, a trailer called “Shock and Awesome” showcased the game, spoofing both Battlefield 3 and Modern Warfare 3. The trailer begins with the number ’3′ appearing from the static line that has been used in previous Modern Warfare titles. From there, the trailer continues to show a somewhat hologram of a city. Next, the trailer shifts it’s attention to Battlefield. It displays a yellow rabbit holding a rocket launcher, and the words ‘Actual Game Footage’, which EA and Dice has used in numerous Battlefield 3 videos. Jets, tanks and gun fights are shown, shifting its attention towards Battlefield. It quickly then blends both of the games. Near the end, it looks as if you can use what appears to be a predator missile. At the very end of the video, in Battlefield 3 form, the title of the game, Saints Row The Third is seen. A static filled ending is the perfect touch on a perfect trailer.
I don’t know if this is the smartest thing to do (largely due in-part to “fan boys”) but it’s absolutely hilarious to watch. It’s fun to see a company like Steelport go outside the boundries of the trailer-making department, and deliver something fresh. Saints Row The Third drops on November 15th.
